Howard Polley

Time, place, nature and adventure are the inspirations for the photography of Howard Polley.  Born in Ohio and raised in Connecticut, his passion for photography started at an early age coming from the Polley family of accomplished musicians and artists.  His love for photography started with his mom, a photographer of the 70’s, who developed her own photos at home. “Of all the birthdays, holidays and candid photos taken over my lifetime, it is the photographs of the slightly unusual, or perhaps overlooked that are most intriguing.” says Polley.

His creative work can be seen in the timeless images from America’s National Parks to European cities and culture.  His 2002 acclaimed calendar series of photographs of his beloved hometown of Danbury illustrated a never seen before visual affection for the places he has known all his life.  His love of travel and its documentation through photography is epitomized by his recurring theme best summed up as “looking for adventure. “

His photos not only capture the  nuances of a certain place, but also show others  the natural beauty and significance of inspiring places throughout the world.  His photography is a source of inspiration to others as people often say of Polley’s work that they never realized that place could be so beautiful.   Having an eye for beauty is his gift and being able to capture beauty in a photograph is his passion.
