In 1928 a group of local aviation enthusiasts (Mr A.E. Tweedy and Frank H. Lee) purchased a 60-acre tract near the Fairgrounds known as
"Tucker's Field" and leased the property to the Town of Danbury for an airport which later became Danbury's Municipal Airport that was activated in April 1940. The airport has 4 runways with runway 8 being the longest extending 4,422 ft. and 150 ft. wide. The airport today is around 250 acres.
