Video Clip of the Hawk before it flew away

I saw this Red Tail Hawk perched on a branch in the wild at Tarrywile Park in Danbury Ct. on Sunday 11.29.09 around 2:30pm
Hawks are bird of prey diurnal raptors, such as eagles. Kind of looks like a Rough Legged Hawk.

At first It was right on the ground on the trail with people walking by with their dogs.
I couldn't believe it, why was this Hawk not afraid and flying off, and then it flew off with a dead possum or a woodchuck that it was eating.
So that's why it was not flying away, it was protecting its meal.
As it flew off It seemed that the prey was to big to carry because it dropped it into a small pond and then landed in a tree near by.
This is when I was able to photograph the bird. Very beautiful bird.
You can see the blood on it's left claw and a little on its beak.

So many park visitors this day were able to witness this incredible display of wildlife, what a treat.
This is just one of many reasons why we save open spaces.

I live about 3 miles from Tarrywile park and I believe I saw the same hawk outside my condo window 2 days in a row in early 2011.
the hawk had just killed a squirrel and was just sitting on a branch.
