Sky Line Drive was completed and opened to the public in 1947. Its the longest paved hill climb in the world.
The 5.2 mile Skyline Drive twist and turns to the summit 41 turns, 20 of which are hairpins (switchbacks) with an elevation increase of 3,140 ft.
Average times are around 5 minutes with an average speed of 60 miles an hour.
