Richard Gunn was the Grounds Foreman at Tarrywile Park in Danbury Connecticut for over 10 years.
Richard Gunn, who was born in Danbury, Ct., passed away at the park on July 8th, 2011 at the age of 61.
Richard was a Vietnam Veteran who did two tours as a United States Marine. A Purple Heart recipient.
As I took this photo above I was watching a crow harassing a Red Tail Hawk.
I was thinking to myself that Richard has taken his caretaking to a higher level.
A view across the street from Tarrywile Park.
As I was leaving the park the First Congregational Church Steeple was illuminated between the clouds.
As I got closer to take a photo I realized that the street light was lined up as if to be illuminating the Steeple on its own.
Essence
When I think about the past lives of other people
I feel entranced with wanting to know about their thoughts.
What they held dear and what they loved in those quite moments.
For what is truly us, our education, our memories,
or something simple as our true nature,
the core that makes us who we are or who we long to be.
For all the materials that we value seem insignificant
when compared to the essence of our soul.
