Palo Santo Tree "Palo Santo" is Spanish for "holy wood,"
The tree is without leaves most of the year until the rainy season, which then the leaves appear & last for a few weeks,
then fall off again to protect the tree through the dry season. Plao Santo
wood is known from ancient times for
healing & religious rituals. Even
after the tree has died the wood still produces fragrant resin & is burned like incense.
