Makini Helmet Warrior Chief Mask  (symbol of safety and protection)

Most people call these Hawaiian warrior helmets but they are really called Makaki'i or Makini.
Worn by members of a warrior society makini who were in charge with protecting their high chief.
The full size versions were worn by some priests during various ceremonies and also by ocean canoe paddlers.
