Climbing Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey New Hampshire on the Marlboro Trail, which is 3.2 miles round trip with some steep parts.
The trail seems longer then 3.2 miles round trip, but that is what the GPS calculated, I read that it was 2.1 miles?
Grand Monadnock Mountain (3,165') is said to be the second most climbed peak in the world. Second to Mount Fuji.

Mt. Monadnock is the centerpiece of the 5,000 acre Monadnock State Park.
The word "monadnock" originally comes from the Abnacki Indian language meaning "mountain that stands alone."

Mt. Monadnock forms one end of the roughly 50-mile Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway Trail.
It is also the terminus of the 117-mile Metacomet-Monadnock Trail.

There are five major trails - Old Toll Road and White Arrow Trails (2.2 miles and the easiest trail), Dublin Trail (2.2 miles)
White Dot Trail (1.9 miles) Pumpelly Ridge Trail (4.5 miles)
To get to the peak you can also hike Halfway House Trail, Gap Mountain Trail, Gilson Pond Birchcroft Trail,
and the White Cross Trail at the main entrance in the Monadnock State Park.

No Dogs Allowed....our mistake...So the next time the dog will have to stay home.
