Yellowstone is America's first National Park founded in 1872. Over 10,000 hydrothermal features with lots of colored hot springs & bubbling mudpots. 3,472 square miles with over 290 waterfalls, 97 trailheads & 287 backcountry campsites. Highest Point is Eagle Peak at 11,358 ft. Hundreds of species of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles have been documented with over 1,700 species of trees, plants, lichens and other vascular plants. This Super Volcano has over 300 geysers. Steamboat Geyser in the Norris Geyser Basin, is the World’s Tallest Geyser, 7,550 feet above sea level. Has eruptions lasting from 3 to 40 minutes and shoots water more than 300 feet in the air.

A recent Yellowstone ‘bioblitz’ uncovered some interesting biodiversity including 46 kinds of bees, 373 plant species, 86 mushroom types, five kinds of bats, 24 butterflies and more than 300 kinds of insects.
